Dr. Nate Perkins

PT, DPT

I grew up in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where I lived until graduating high school. I later moved to Leesville, Louisiana, to attend college at Northwestern State University, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2014. I earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from LSU Health Sciences Center–Shreveport in 2020.

After graduating, I practiced in the Lake Charles area from 2020 to 2022 before gaining additional experience through travel physical therapy. I returned to Lake Charles in 2023 and have been proud to work with Thrive Physical Therapy since.

Core Values: Treat people the way you want to be treated. Strive to improve the lives of those around you.

“With great power comes great responsibility.”

I chose physical therapy after attending a PT session with my son. At the time, I didn’t have a clear sense of direction or purpose, but seeing how life-changing physical therapy can be for both children and adults inspired me to return to school and pursue my doctorate. Physical therapy ultimately gave me purpose and direction.

At Thrive, I love the supportive environment and how genuinely everyone cares for one another. We all share the same goal: helping our patients feel better and continue progressing. I appreciate working for a management team that listens to each employee and supports them both personally and professionally.

Nate’s Favorites:

  • Movies: Spider-Man: No Way Home, King Kong (2005), Sing Street, Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse
  • TV shows: Survivor, The Office, Stranger Things, Friday Night Lights, Breaking Bad
  • Books: How Champions Think by Bob Rotella, Relentless: From Good to Great to Unstoppable by Tim Grover, Captain Underpants

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids, playing music, golfing, and staying active through fitness-related activities.
